Pulau Ular Road Safety Audit (RSA)

Pulau Ular is one of the three islands making up Shell Eastern Petroleum's Pulau Bukom refinery complex. Traffic volumes on Pulau Ular are low and speeds are very low. Therefore, road safety is generally good with very few reported accidents. However, the RSA did identify a number of issues to be addressed.

The main issues identified are sight distance obstructions, incorrect layouts for pedestrian crossings, faded signs and road marking as well as lack of maintenance.

There were also inconsistencies with the markings and rationale of certain traffic junctions, improperly installed vehicle impact guardrail sections as well as inadequate protection for pipe racks abutting traffic junctions/ roads.
