Tahir Foundation Building
The Tahir Foundation Building project is the third phase of an ambitious, national program which seeks to upgrade Singapore’s capabilities as a center of advanced medical education and medical research. This building has medical education, research and additional campus amenities as its centerpiece. The intention is to provide a “World-Class Medical School” project that follows the high standards set by NUS in the design and construction of both MD2 and MD6.

The design is based on a building floor plate that maximizes the site area whilst remaining respectful to the retention of road access to the north, south and west. The typical floor plan is based on a two bar building. The larger bar to north accommodates the research/teaching based functions and is independently serviced with once through air for the labs and recirculated air system typically for the teaching space. The smaller bar to the south accommodates the office/administrative functions, again independently serviced by a recirculated air system.
