Senoko Fishing Port
Fronting the Straits of Johor in the northern part of Singapore, Senoko Fishing Port comprises a two-storey fish market building, some ancillary facilities and a T-shaped jetty. The fish market is the most active place at the port. Its design is a compact composition of four disparate forms housing different functions - the fish merchants' offices, the canteen, the auction market hall and the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) General Office.

The auction market hall has its 36 fish auction lots housed under a large and distinctive curved roof structure. The elliptical AVA General Office is elevated and strategically placed to give it an uninhibited view of the waterfront, which also allows AVA officers to perform surveillance of auction activities at the auction market hall. The interior of the auction market hall and canteen enclosure are designed to be well ventilated and well lit by natural daylight. By night, the building enclosure transforms into a lamp shade with its interior lighting illuminating the entire building.

This project is a winner of the 1998 SIA Architectural Design Award.
