restructuring changes at cpg corporation

In a fast-moving business world that is continuously disrupted by rapid changes, we in CPG believe in continuous improvement and evolving to meet ever-changing business demands.

With effect from 1 Jan 2017, there will be some changes to the job titles of our senior management personnel. These changes enable us to keep pace with the competitive business environment and to accord our senior management staff the responsibilities and authority that is commensurate with their respective roles in the CPG Group of companies:

CPG STAFF won medals at standard chartered marathon singapore 2016

Four teams were formed by CPG staff to participate in the Ekiden Race at the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2016 that was held on 4 December 2016.

Mr. Simon Wee, Senior Consultant of CPG Consultants, has been awarded the Ministry of National Development (MND) Medallion, in recognition of his contributions as member of the Accreditation Selection Panel.

 

He has assisted MND in various capacities including:

  • BCA – Member of Accreditation Selection Panel

CPG COLLABORATES WITH LEADING JAPANESE DESIGN CONSULTANCY FIRM, AZUSA SEKKEI

CPG Corporation has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Azusa Sekkei, one of Japan’s leading architectural and engineering consultancy firms. The partnership will see both firms collaborating on airport, healthcare and sports facilities projects within the Southeast Asia region.

 

 

Presently, CPG and Azusa Sekkei are working on its first collaboration; a design competition for the Long Thanh Airport in Vietnam.

 

At Azusa Sekkei's recent 70th anniversary celebrations, Khew Sin Khoon, President & Chief Executive Officer shared his well wishes, "70 years is a long time, being able to constantly and rapidly advance amidst stiff competition and challenging economic conditions is certainly a milestone and an achievement to be proud of. We are excited about our partnership on the Long Tanh airport and anticipate the opportunity to secure our first project together."

CPG FM Wins Business Continuity Excellence Award

We are elated to announce that CPG Facilities Management (CPG FM) was presented with the Business Continuity Excellence Award by the International Facility Management Association Singapore Chapter (IFMA). CPG FM has also recently obtained the ISO 22301 - Business Continuity Management quality management certification for conducting business activities in their Contact Centre.

The IFMA launched and inaugurated the Singapore FM Awards 2016, in conjunction with its 15th Anniversary celebration. The award recognises those at the forefront who have made significant contributions to the knowledge, practical application and sustainable performance of the facilities management industry in Singapore. The ISO 22301 is the international standard for business continuity management designed to protect businesses from threats relevant to the business resulting in potential disruption, allowing businesses to put plans in place ahead of time to ensure business does not come to a standstill.

CPG IN THE NEWS - BT FEATURE -  UNI-ASIA TIES UP WITH CPG'S INVESTMENT ARM TO JOINTLY INVEST IN JAPAN PROPERTY PROJECT

The partnership between CPG Investments and Uni-Asia, to jointly invest in a residential property project in Japan under the "Alero" brand, was featured on The Business Times. 

 

The total investment amounted to 250 million yen (S$3.34 million) and is a first joint investment project between the two firms.

NATIONAL GALLERY SINGAPORE RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL CHAPTER AWARD FOR PUBLIC ARCHITECTURE

It is with great pride to announce that the National Gallery Singapore has received its first International award - the International Chapter Award for Public Architecture.

 

An excerpt from the Jury Citation:
"An almost impossibly complicated project uniting the former Supreme Court building and City Hall buildings to create South East Asia's largest modern art institution has been achieved with calmness and clarity due to a series of bold and inventive architectural interventions."


About the Award
The International Chapter Award for Public Architecture is awarded by the Australian Institute of Architects. The award acknowledges the work of Institute members residing outside Australia and local members undertaking commissions overseas.

The Australian Institute of Architects Awards programme is an opportunity for public and peer recognition of architectural work and provides the Institute with a valuable mechanism to promote architects and architecture in Australia and internationally.

KIDZANIA SINGAPORE OFFICIALLY OPENS

One of CPG's latest completed projects, KidZania officially opens on 12 April 2016.

 

CPG's contribution to the project includes the rendering of architectural design, civil and structural engineering, and mechanical and electrical engineering services, giving rise to a 81,000 square foot kid-sized city, complete with buildings, paved streets, vehicles and a functioning economy, where kids can learn about different careers, the inner-workings of a city and the concept of managing money through realistic role-plays.

 

Situated at Palawan Beach in Sentosa, KidZania is designed to educate through experience, fostering the development of life skills, giving kids the confidence and inspiration to be great global citizens.

1st April 1999 marks the date CPG Corporation was corporatised.

 

Today, as we celebrate 17 years of our achievements, let us take a walk down memory lane to go through some of our key milestones over the past year.

 

Indeed, the key highlight of 2015 was our organisation wide relocation exercise which saw the big move from Novena Square to Westgate. As we celebrate CPG's first birthday at Westgate in the luxury of our new office space, let us embrace the challenges as a team and work towards building a transformative vision for the organisation.

It is with great pride that we announce that Kuan Chee Yung - Senior Vice President (Architecture), Cheong Yew Kee - Senior Vice President (Architecture), and Siow Zhi Xiang - Principal Architect, at CPG Consultants, have been newly elected into the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) Council during the Annual General Meeting on 22 March 2016.

 

With CPG's staff elected into the council, CPG is represented to better illustrate and embody the organisation's thought leadership for the betterment of the built environment.

ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK (ADB) HEADQUARTERS RECEIVES LEED GOLD CERTIFICATION

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters Third Atrium Building, has received the prestigious Leadership in Energy & Environment Design (LEED®) Gold Certification.

 

The project, one of many which CPG has rendered full consultancy services for, has achieved high energy efficiency and water savings through the use of ventilation louvers, water efficient fittings, and energy efficient lighting systems, amongst other green features and performances.

 

"The green building movement offers an unprecedented opportunity to respond to the most-important challenges of our time, including global climate change, dependence on non-sustainable and expensive sources of energy and threats to human health. The work of innovative building projects such as ADB HQ Third Atrium Building is a fundamental driving force in the green building movement." says the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC) founding chair and CEO, Rick Fedrizzi.
