Sewer Rehabilitation for Rochor and Bukit Timah/ Whampoa and Kallang Catchments

The objective of this contract was to manage the implementation of the public sewers and private sanitary drain-lines rehabilitation programmes, including reaching out to private owners, water quality investigation, identifying leaking sewers and drain-lines and supervising the rehabilitation contracts at Rochor Canal and Sungei Whampoa Sub-Catchment.


The project included an outreach programme; a water quality study, sampling and monitoring in waterways; a part-3 leakage tests of sewers and drain-lines; and the supervision of sewers and drain-lines rehabilitation work.


After selection and prioritisation were done to analyse 135km of sewers, based on water quality assessments in drains and source tracing in sub catchments, CCTV, leakage test, other leak detection methods, the conditions of associated manholes were also inspected.


A recommendation of the specific method of rehabilitation was made after the condition assessment of leaking pipelines, manholes and inspection chambers was carried out.
