Bukit Batok Civil Service Club
The design for the Civil Service Club at Bukit Batok takes advantage of the undulating terrain, integrating lush greenery, terraced landscapes and cascading water elements to create an urban oasis for families and visitors to enjoy.

The clubhouse is fragmented into a series of blocks, sensitively arranged to fit into the natural terrain whilst creating a central space comprising the main pool deck and recreational facilities. Each block is oriented to reduce the cutting of earth and minimise the need for retaining walls.

Within each building block, the main programmatic spaces, which include the administration offices, restaurants and bowling centre, are stacked on top of three levels of car parking, so that they overlook the central pool deck.  Pool facilities are tiered to create a terraced and cascading waterscape, providing a lush green backdrop for the clubhouse. Tree house-like shelters are sited at intervals to further soften the landscape, and to create an intimate tropical setting.

Landscaped and interior spaces flow into each other freely, creating a seamless continuum between indoors and outdoors. Extensive use of natural raw materials such as stone, timber and water contribute to this effect.
