The new aircraft taxiway connects the north and south runways. The bridge component is a careful composition of light and structure that straddles Airport Boulevard beyond the existing aircraft taxiway bridge and forms the gateway into the airport. It supports the heavy load and broad width of the aircraft, with arch supports that are pulled apart to give elegance in articulation. At night, uplighting provides further accentuation of these piers. Daylight is brought underneath the vast width by the use of a strip of glass blocks inside the outermost edges, which support fire engine access. A thin edge is ensured at the outermost jet blast screens with steel grilles and pipe extensions.
