Bishan Fire Station is a new fire-fighting unit built to replace Serangoon Fire Station. It comes with practical facilities, including parking lots for fire engines and ambulances, dormitories and other operational spaces.

The building comprises three blocks arranged in a "U" shape around a central drill yard, with the main block accommodating the active fire-fighting unit. Towards the end of this cluster is an external staircase-cum-training tower. The unique feature of this building is its award-winning colour scheme. The colour palette comprises primarily red and yellow as accent colours and hues of grey and silver serving as the predominant background colour. The architectural highlight of the station is its seven-storey training tower, which is accentuated with a red centre core with aluminium-perforated panels as the external finish.
