NEW RAINFOREST PARK AT MANDAI WILDLIFE RESERVE
Nestled within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve in Singapore, the new rainforest park is envisioned to be an immersive animal habitat where exciting experiences await at every level of the forest. From a cavern to aerial walkways in the treetops, the rainforest park will take visitors on a journey of discovery. Set within a naturalistic environment and located next to the adjacent forest of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve in the north of Singapore, environmental stewardship is a key tenet of the design strategy and execution. All planning and construction are guided by an Environmental Impact Assessment commissioned by Mandai Wildlife Group. CPG is committed to ensuring compliance to special mitigating measures, in respect of the existing surrounding flora and fauna.

NATIONAL ORCHID GARDEN
The National Orchid Garden, the crown jewel of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, is arguably one of the most visited attractions of the Gardens with stunning displays of orchids. The enhancement to the Tropical Montane Orchidetum after 20 years, infuses new life into the UNESCO heritage site, redefining and refreshing visitor experience.
The Tropical Montane Orchidetum provides a wonderful opportunity to enhance the National Orchid Garden as a world class visitor attraction. It is a novel attraction displaying orchids that span the range from the lowland to the elfin forest - one of the world’s first. The existing Cool House is redesigned and enhanced to form the core attraction within the Tropical Montane Orchidetum forming a much larger single space tall enough to allow visitors an experience of both the terrestrial and the arboreal zones of the montane forest.

NATIONAL GALLERY
The new National Gallery is housed in the former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings, both fronting the Padang. The design elegantly integrates the two buildings at the roof level through the use of a linear draped canopy supported by tree-like columns.
The challenge of the project is in retaining the character and ambience of the former buildings while creating a modern art gallery - a blend of old and new. Key features such as the facades, the main staircases, the Surrender Chamber in the City Hall and the main court in the former Supreme Court are kept, allowing them to bear witness to the history of Singapore. The new roof canopy filters out direct sunlight, bathing the roof-top spaces in a soft, natural light. The two buildings are linked at the new basement level, which serve as the entrance to the Gallery. The existing entrances are kept and new ones are opened up to make the buildings more permeable at street level. A collaboration between studioMilou Singapore and CPG Consultants Pte Ltd.

PASIR RIS CENTRAL HAWKER CENTRE
Set in the heart of Pasir Ris , the two storey hawker centre is located within close proximity to Pasir Ris MRT, Pasir Ris Sports and Recreation Centre as well as Pasir Ris Town Park. The hawker centre has a unique 3-dimensional facade that resembles the form and weaving of a traditional basket, while providing good natural lighting and protection from the sun and rain. In addition, the hawker centre is also designed with its own multi-storey carpark right above it, helping largely to provide ease and convenience for vehicle owners.
From the onset, the design strategies were carefully crafted with city planners to enable for a seamless entry between the park and hawker centre. The proposal also included creating entry points at both floor levels between the new hawker centre and the existing recreation centre. Additionally, the planning of the building was well thought through, with careful consideration to connect it to the new extended cycling path network around Pasir Ris Town. The enhanced accessibility will enable for cyclists to enter the hawker centre directly, without having to station their bicycles at an alternative venue The seamless integration of the building with its neighbouring vicinity aims to enable for greater connectivity and create pockets of social spaces for the enjoyment of the community, enhancing the vibrancy of Pasir Ris Town.
