The Ministry of Home Affairs Complex is an embodiment of stately authority and dignity - an image that befits the headquarters of the “Home Team”. The entire complex comprises a pair of twenty-one-storey towers with a six-storey podium, a basement, and three- and four-storey low-rise blocks with courtyards.
The twin tower composition, finished with traditional granite cladding, lends an imposing feel to the building. The transparency of the glass-clad podium serves as a contrast to the granite towers and is a unifying element in the symmetrical architectural massing. The courtyard was designed to allow maximum light and ventilation into the office space, even down to the lower basement levels. The building is equipped with intelligent features such as localised lighting and air-conditioning control, central vacuum and disposal system, computer telephony voice-data integration, video/desktop conferencing, smart card applications and a computerised visitor registration and guidance.
